Background
In 2008, interested in the philosophy of sharing knowledge and the notion that all information should be free, Gareth Lymer began to experiment with the idea of giving away all he had learnt about the soft play industry; an industry from where he had always earned his living and one in which he founded and managed several significant European suppliers since 1997.
The result of this experiment and subsequent research is Share and Compare Play, the world’s first comparison website and independent information platform exclusively for the Soft Play / Indoor Play industry.
The purpose of www.shareandcompareplay.com is to establish a new eco-system, a place where people with shared interests, experiences and opinions relating to indoor soft play equipment can come together; a place where people collaborate to the benefit of all participants.
Our hope
Our hope for www.shareandcompareplay.com is that it will contribute and enable the most positive available impact on the future generations of children who should be able to play in a safe and yet challenging environment where they are free to engage in the world around them and discover through play. The soft play industry has fantastic potential to change society for the better, we invite all parties to contribute in whatever way they can and use our platform to enable this change.
What we do
www.shareandcompareplay.com publishes user and expert reviews of suppliers, blogs and articles by industry experts and produces its own video content to ensure the most reliable and valuable information is available in the most appropriate format. Indoor play has infinite potential and the hope is that the transparent nature of the information published will revolutionise the industry and start a discussion regarding its future.
Imagine: you are in a new bustling city, sitting in a corner café watching the traffic and the people walking buy; they are crouched as they walk, trying to shield from the driving snow. You are still a little jet-lagged but you are trying to plan your day, you want to see this city from the eyes of the people that live there; you want a local’s holiday. You continue to observe the bustle outside with one eye on travel planner. You then notice an older gentlemen sitting next to you who is peacefully observing, as are you. You notice how everyone here has a habit of speaking to people they do not know, the gentlemen then enquires what you are doing, he comments on your well thumbed guidebook. You engage in a conversation and he asks with great interest about you and what you are looking to do over the next few days. You order a coffee and realise, this is the city, these are the people and this is the life you want to inherit for a few days. You continue to talk and the gentlemen talks with passion and experience about the local’s city, the kind they never tell you about when you are a tourist. You have been given the know-how of a member of the community who has been there, done it and wears the t-shirt well. You leave an hour older but with the benefit of thirty years experience; you had a guidebook but now you have a map, you are free to make the most of your time and create the experience as you wish. We want to be the café, our community wants to be the gentleman, please bring the coffee.
